blind We had it side by side with Haut Chardonnay 2013 and surprisingly it was the better wine. I think 2013 was a off bottle because I had it a few times stronger and more focused. After drinking a lot of Prevost champagnes this weekend Brochet's Haut Meunier had difficulties to follow. Not that focussed and more acidity driven. Red berries. 92

Last had a bottle in 2018 and tonight this was much more coherent and knit together. Still a little aggressive on first pour but with some time in the glass it really is lovely and expressive. Btls could hold for a few years still.

Quelle surprise, as they say in Brooklyn. An off-vintage, full pinot meunier wine that expressed deep earthy character, refined floral and fruit notes and a balance heretofore not common in meunier bottlings. Just wonderful with mixed dishes before the principal course. Redolent lemon curd, hints of tropical notes, a not-quite-chiseled yet defined outline throughout, a persistent mousse that never overwhelmed, and a nice yeasty undertone all made for a champagne ready to consume with secondary flavors merged.

En-drue pinot meunier.
