  • "Tits and Boobies" (Chicago, IL): Very good, especially for the very difficult vintage. No greenness or thinness here; this is quite rich and opulent, though it does seem to show a fair bit more advanced than I would expect for a wine that is but 12 years old. The mushroomy qualities of meunier are on clear display, and this is quite concentrated and vinous. Probably among the better wines I've had in the vintage and honestly a real surprise.

  • Spanish dinner with tapas and La Senda wines at Maison Dakota. Aperitif blind.
    Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, yellow gold colour. Thin legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of toasty wood, chalky minerals, ripe oranges, some yellow gold apples, hints of oxidative elements. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of brioche, kumquats, ripe oranges, yellow gold apples, ripe citrus lemon zest, stony minerals, slight oxidative toasty almond nuts. Long finish.
Very good quality. Vinous and harmonious. Lovely drinking. Can still develop more over next few years. Was guessing a Blanc de Noir, likely 100% Pinot Meunier. Emmanuel Brochet?
    Dosage 2g/l.

  • Great showing. Really nervy, spicy, with ginger note, but balanced and long. One of the best 2011s I’ve had.

  • This stuff is heaven in a bottle, a truly vinous champagne. My husband doesn't usually like 100% pinot meunier and we were literally fighting over this bottle.
Intense yet elegant aromas of buttered brioche, toasted almond, applesauce, vanilla and caramel had my mouth watering before I even took a sip. Bright, balanced acidity with a gorgeously long finish. Pronounced flavors of buttered brioche, toasted almond, green apple, lemon, wet stones, sweet spices and even a hint of salt.

    In a word: delectable.
