Enjoyed from half bottle. Surprisingly young and fresh. Sour and fresh cherries, ripe strawberries, soil and mushroom. Very pleasant acidity on the palate with medium length. This wine is entering its drinking window now and will probably stay there for the next 4-6 years (if you like them fresh)

Red Burgundies (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): “The vines at the origin of our Nuits Saint Georges Vieilles Vignes (Old Vines), located at an altitude of 245m, grow on a shallow alluvial cone, calcareous and stony, at the bottom of the slope.” Grapes from 3 diff plots, all stony, & 2 of them calcareous; 50% new oak
N: Closed; berries, smoke, with minerals?
P: LM, poss Med, body; NICE frt quickly met by puckerish, very, VERY fine tannins which, surprisingly, QUITE resolve by the LONG, spicy finish with the notes of those very, VERY fine tannins & a touch of bitterness from time to time. NEEDS at least into Summer '19, then drinking for several more... easily. [This vendor's $44.95 is $5 < than the only other source listed on wine-searcher in April 2018.]

P: Med, poss LM, body; RNDISH entry with almost swtish frt met by some very, VERY finely tannic astringency, yet with almost a swtness. The finish is quite LONG, balanced, & with a slightly tangy almost swtness + a touch of spice. Approachable now with food, this DESERVES into at least early '20, then drinking into its 10th yr, likely longer. At this vendor's $44.95 [a WHOPPING $15 < than the only other currently listed source on wine-searcher], me thinks this represents OUTSTANDING QPR for a Pinot of such substance!

Easy to drink.
Wonderful balance, with long lasting flavor, no acidity.
