Contrary to what others have posted recently I found this bottle to be perfect. It was not past it's prime, it tasted great with lots of cherry flavor on both the nose and finish. Glad I still have another bottle.

wine appears to be past its prime. It is starting to show that pruney/brown character that over the hill wines show.
It is still drinkable, but will need significant breathing time. This bottle took about 3 hours to open up, and blow off the majority of the prune flavors. Drink it now if you got it. it's not going to improve at this stage.
That bing said you get the hints that this was a nice wine in its prime. Nice deep purple color, and full body.Still some good fruit left, but a little off balance due to age.

Still beautiful, enjoyed with a simple charbroiled 80/20 burger with sauteed Vidalia onions and crimini mushrooms. Wish I had more!

19 years in: brick-red, still strong fruit and even balance. Almost "chewy"; great with grilled steak. This could last another 5+ years.
