Flat-out delicious. Shows an expressive, mature, beautiful bouquet, quite earthy-leathery-cedary followed by a strong savory-bovril note. Nice attack foremost with juicy acids followed by silky, integrated, lean-yet-intense fruit. Not a hair out of place, an elegant, light bodied charmer with a wonderful texture and plenty of nuance. Drink now, this is raring to go. 91-92 pts.

This is my 3rd or 4th bottle from the 2016 MacArthur’s Heist, and I’m continually amazed how good this is. The bouquet is expressive and notably fresh, showcasing mint and menthol, a hint of capsicum, but also a touch of brown sugar and dark chocolate, and earthy notes. The palate is easy going, smooth and rounded with good substance, yet juicy and bright with a nice, leafy finish. This won’t make old bones — there’s a touch of brown on the rim already— but honestly, this is so good now, why wait? Drink now and over the next 5+ years.

Pretty good showing for two 375mLs purchased at auction for $14 each (vig included!). Can't really go wrong with that. Pencil shavings/graphite, typical notes. Much better/more expressive after 20 mins in the glass. Fun, inexpensive drinker to enjoy with my family, including my grandmother Gloria.

Still drinking well, but it is probably heading towards its final laps. This really punched above its weight considering the year and the estate.
