  This is a wine that you need to be an old Bordeaux drinker to really enjoy. With a great ullage, my excitement was heightened the moment the cork was pulled. Despite a not particularly aromatic nose, the fruit on the palate was intact, boasting notes of red cherries and redcurrants over the course of the hour and a half it was open for. The mid-palate was dominant as leather and cedar shifted this wine into a tertiary profile, showing off the prowess of this cru bourgeois château for its age. With a short finish that was dominated by licorice and hints of pencil shavings and mushrooms, this wine was absolutely still showing. Enjoyable on the night.

  This bottle has seen better days. Slightly tired and passed peak but still drinkable. Interesting experience.
