double decant prior to tasting, pretty much gone, figgy and developing some VA, not a lot and did diffuse some with time. A memorable wine for me as first tasted on trip to Alba in '04 which cause a stir within me. Waited a bit too long.

Double decanted 3hrs before service. Mature nose of cedar and a bit of that dusty drawer thing going on. More dark fruit than I would’ve expected on the palate and overall a slicker profile than the current vajra wines. A good but not inspirational wine.

Gala Dinner at Antonio Galloni's La Festa del Barolo (Four Seasons Restaurant, NYC): [Double decanted around noon.] Mature, complex nose. Tasty, but a touch of VA. Seems older than the 82, so probably not a great bottle.
