Coravin. Pale ruby color, very slight bricking common in young nebbiolo; aromatic, red fruited, red currant, florals, very elegant; palate is light bodied, fabulously youthful and fresh red fruits, very high and youthful tannin, high 14.5% alcohol (noticeable but not out of place for a warmer year), nice persistence of flavor through the midpalate; medium-plus length finish with nice complexity. An excellent barolo from a warm year, showing all the elegance and red-fruitedness that I expect from this vineyard. Obviously youthful and will evolve nicely over the medium term. 92+, potential for more if the alcohol integrates well. Over a few hours, this integrates well especially with the tannins. The alcohol is just a touch high but starting to integrate as well.

From magnum purchased at Sun Valley Wine Company for Super Bowl weekend with our travel group. Luxurious nose of dried rose petals, cranberries, and spice. Medium bodied with bracing acidity. Luscious fruit, raspberry and cranberry and cherry, minerals, stones. Very young but oh so delicious. The group was exceedingly happy with this one. Bravo!
Precise and delineated with dried flower and red cherry, fine and beautiful, with a foundation of spice box. Elegant, almost understated, with bright acidity and a fine minerality. Very good.

Wine Workshop: Barolo (Five Way Cellars, Paddington): Red cherry, again a tiny wood glue note, very slight sense of diluteness, slightly perfumed floral notes, touch of pot pourri. Medium plus intensity acidity, plenty of grippy drying tannins provides a textured burr, red cherry. John says a touch of Amaro and I see that with time. A little dilute again.
