  • Like my bottle of the 2015 a couple of weeks back this took a while to come together in the glass but when it did it was magnificent. The nose is a little fresher than I expected with red apple, pineapple and apricot emerging followed by vanilla pod and toasted hazelnut. The palate is delicious and screams pure Cali Chardonnay - white peach, apricot, roasted pineapple and fresh pastry along with plenty of depth and richness and nicely restrained oak. Beautifully balanced with great acidity it's a joy to drink. Still quite youthful this is worth following for a few years.

  • Powerful nose of oak, pineapple and peach. Tastes of pineapple, mango, and cantaloupe. Heavy oak influence. Would benefit from a little more acidity.

  • Pear and tropical notes with a heavy dose of oak and a luscious mouthfeel. Finishes with notes of citrus rind which I find interesting.

  • Six months has improved it a lot, or this bottle was just nicer than the one we tried last year. Another possibility is that last year's bottle was a new arrival at the wine store and was still travel sick. Whatever is the case, we liked this one... everything in balance and a full palette of Chard flavors. Excellent value at $24. FWIW the photo is not the label on the 2017.

  • A nice mid-range Chard that is perhaps a bit expensive for what you get. It benefits from 30 minutes of air, but doesn't rise above many others in the same price range. We prefer the Stag's Leap Karia for the same money.
