Second bottle of this. Slightly muddled nose and palate immediately after opening but it soon blossomed and came together beautifully. Properly golden in the glass. Expressive nose of roasted pineapple, red apple, grilled peach, cinnamon and a little papaya. There is some welcome freshness here. The palate is rich and medium bodied with plenty of stone fruit, baked apple and toasty notes with the oak nicely restrained. A classic Cali Chardonnay at a good price. In its prime now. Kendall-Jackson doing it again.

A bit of a revelation for me as this is a significant step up from the regular Grand Reserve. Lots of tropical influence with a core of pineapple, candied orange and papaya fruit woven together with some nutmeg, spice and caramel apple. It is not over the top and it pairs very well with mango, papaya chicken. Well done!
