A broad palate fluffed up with Brett made this wine palatable to only one person around the table... me. Go figure. I must be turning into a European soap dodger. Our mates, and I, far preferred a Penfold's Bin 128 1998. I have another bottle of this in the bowels of the house, I wonder what bottle variation there will be. Hopefully loads.

Rich red fruits, leather, and barnyard, but arguably faulty due to the presence of brettanomyces. For me, this crossed the line: too metallic and horsey, but not everyone that drank some tonight minded too much. Bottle variation has been insane over the last five years for me: some have been undrinkable, others tolerable. YMMV.

Lighter bodierd shiraz- almost new-world Pinot in character. Nice in that not over the top jammy. Fruity. Drink up...
