Very good quality. Decanted for about 2 hours. Dark red/purple, vivid at the rim. Opaque. Had a core of tight knit dark fruits. Not overdone. Many layers of aroma including, eucalyptus, roast meats, peppercorns, coffee, even burnt marshmallow. Soft but present tannins. Very well judged.

Blackberry foremost, blueberry too. Spice and meat and and liquorice allsorts and then suede tannin “rolls in out of the deep” as per the back label. Reckon this will be fantastic with age... but then I do love my Clonakilla Hilltops to have a bit of blueberry along with the black fruits.

Good wine. Dark fruited and quite dry for mine. Primary fruits are serious but doesn't back up with serious structure. Some spice and slightly abrasive fruits late, pointing to ripeness. Medium length finish. The flavours do change somewhat over a few hours with a meaty / savoury / Sth Rhone funk coming into play. Not forceful and whilst at odds with first impressions I can't decide whether it's a positive or negative? Regardless it does point to complexity.
