This had the hallmark Martha notes, was dense and long and just a pleasure to drink.
Having been lucky enough to taste the 1975 twice lately, it starts becoming quite clear, that the 1975 has now overtaken the 1974 and still has a lot more life ahead of it, whereas I would drink up the 1974 bottles slowly (if you have any and can afford not to sell them).

Tobacco, blackberry, cassis, mint leaf, cigar box, spice, spearmint, and earthy notes open to a fully mature, soft, supple, round wine with elegant tannins. There is a lot of intensity, richness, and balance in this sublime example of a fully mature California Cabernet Sauvignon that will not get better with further aging. Drink from 2023-2029.

Crystalline redcurrant fruit, clear and fine, building over time with impeccable length. Sandalwood, eucalyptus, positively exploding with flavor over time.

California Wine Weekend; 12/1/2023-12/3/2023 (Mos Eisley Cantina & Waterhouse Restaurant): Nose: Intense eucalyptus, mint, herbs and anise rise to the top, with crystaline red raspberry, blackberry and tart cherry notes. Fruit grows in focus as this opens, and leather, cedar and nori notes develop. Palate: incredible freshness that defies the age, blackberry, dark raspberry, eucalyptus, mint and cocoa and cedar. Spherical in the mouth with graphite and cassis in the mid palate that show the terroir of this vineyard. Finish: Long and focused inner mouth perfume of black fruit and mint.
This started in the decanter quite clenched showing a large amount of eucalyptus and dark fruit, but the detail took a few hours to fully come out. When revisited at the end of dinner this was even better as the focus kept growing.

A 1974 Napa Retrospective (Zunfthaus zur Waag Zürich): After the shock of a corked bottle, the host miraculously had another bottle appear. Amazing generosity, thank you!
