Interesting wine that definitely overperformed against expectations! Very unusual, though: somewhat of a mix between left bank claret and port. Very sweet, but with some counterbalancing acidity. Long.

Wonderful nose, scented complex and intoxicating. Mouth of complex sweet fruit, all high notes and no bass, elevating, fascinating, captivating... really beautiful! The combination of acidity and sweetness was unusual and effective - a great bottle of wine. Worked well with Comte cheese

South Florida does Lafleur (Cafe Maxx, Pompano Beach, Florida): Decent color for age with a bricky edge. Very nicely aromatic, Burgundian spice and forest floor. On the positive side, it's soft, delicate, perfectly clean and correct. But the thin, short, marginally sour finish gives away its age and modest finish.

Peter's MNSC (Duddell's): fragrant and floral, almost burgundian. old school lafleur.

Smoky with dark berry aromas. Sweet and ripe with the black fruits, but dries out at the mid-palate and finishes with smoky, peppery, woody flavors.
