This was very good. although i think that this will hold on like this for awhile, i don't think that there will be any additional upside development - drink up soon. my last bottle

PNP. cork perfect. color dark ruby with bricking edges. nose shows earthy cherry and telltale cristom spice. swishing shows mostly tannin (oak) structure. sipping brings out more balance but the oak is poking my tongue tonight. also note the heat mentioned last time. hmmm. maybe past prime

PNP. Cork wet 1/3 way up. Color garnet with bricking edges. On nose I get rhubarb cola and five spice. Swishing shows persistent structure with some slightly astringent tannin on finish. Sipping shows cherries and rhubarb balancing the structure, and it goes a little stemmy on the finish. This was after dinner so maybe something from the food, because I did not get the stems when first opened. This seems to me about as good as it will get. Will drink remaining bottles in next 1-2 yrs.

Brief note. PNP. Mature and nice. Seemed a tad hot compared to the 1996 Grivot Echezeaux that we drank alongside. Still quite nice and ready to drink
