  • Took a while to open up and for some sulfur to blow off. Eventually cedar and spice aromas became apparent. Palate gained richness but shows a lot of restraint. Acidity is still very much intact, with an almost electric presence.Tannins are still quite grippy too. Current drinking window is set to end in a couple of years, but this wine sure feels like it's got more than that in it.

  • Drinking really well, lots of bright fruit and well balanced tannins

  • Decanted >1 hour. Paired with Coq a Vin. Wine has nicely matured and in a great drinking window. Mature fruit with hints f cola and earth. Delicious.

  • Just on the edge of being gone. We made the mistake of letting it breather for several hours, at this point I'd open and pour. The look was thin, but not out of character for Pinot, it was gone to where there was no nose and the taste was classic varietally correct less robust Pinot, but edging towards prunes. I would drink immediately and hope you can save it.

  • Appearance: medium- ruby, starting to show some garnet highlights and bricking, medium+ tearing, no staining, no sediment.

Nose: clean, developing, pronounced intensity, ripe cherry, ripe strawberry, ripe raspberry, cranberry, rhubarb, black plum, rose hip, potpourri, Chinese five spice, smoke, raw meat, rubber, stemmy organic earth, crushed leaves, forest floor.

Palate: dry, high acid, medium+ tannin, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body, pronounced intensity, medium+ finish, ripe cherry, ripe strawberry, ripe raspberry, black plum, rose hip, potpourri, Chinese five spice, smoke, chocolate, raw meat, rubber, stemmy organic earth, crushed leaves, forest floor, dried cherry, cranberry sauce.

Overall: A concentrated pinot noir full of ripe red fruits, but backed up with some nicely developing tertiary savor. The oak is supportive rather than intrusive; the tannins are ripe and round. I think it's in a really good spot right now with a fine balance of flavors. Structurally, it feels just the tiniest bit hot, but at the end of the day the elevated acid, pronounced intensity, and compelling complexity more than make up for it. Really nice!
