Tow bottles purchased at the same time and drank within 2 months and quite a difference. This one really was superb with good fruit and a whole bouquet of flavours one likes to find in an aged bordeaux blend. My last bottle.of this vintage so it's like the passing of an old friend

Good colour. Certainly brick on the edges but still a deep purple black core Lovely nose. A hint of black currant and other dark fruit but much more a definite range of earthy aromas; forest floor, barnyard. A strong and distinctive aroma was noted that was very hard to pinpoint A combo of menthol and green pepper? This continued on the palate and while it didn't spoil the drinking it stood out a little too much.
Nice drinking overall. Certainly nearing the end of its life but was elegant and satisfying for our casual meal.

WS Vancouver Offline (Vancouver, BC): Mystery wine from Seaquam. 89-91 pts. Clear rim, ready upon popping suggest it aged. Heavy licorice nose screams of french oak. Good weight on midpalate but dry and weak finish. Spicy/Smokey, I think Dunder said it was Leathery, and someone said earthy. There was some indescribable funkiness, otherwise I would say a french blend. I guessed Spain/Portugal. We guessed all over the place: Bordeaux, South Africa , Australian cab franc... Answer: 1/2 Cab 1/4 merlot and Cab Franc from BC. A humbling experience indeed. Despite the heavy hitter wines we drank before it, it was still showing well.

Strong bouquet of tobacco, blue fruits and berries with some cedar and smoke. Fully mature now I would say the palate has a nice balance of fruit and acidity with plums and raspberries predominant. A beauty that could stand up to some cellaring yet.
