In Magnum. Slow Ox for 3 hours. It did not change for the next 5 thereafter. Smooth and pliable tannins but still evidence of a backbone. Blackberry and Black Cherry fruits. Faintest touches of spice, dried herbs and Oak. This wine is supposed to evidence one of the best expressions of Barbera and I concur. This Mag would be through 2030 and perhaps well beyond that date.

A lovely bottle of wine that is perfectly aged so that fruit and alcohol pair seamlessly. On the nose, intense black cherries, dark plum and smokey cedar. Very rich, round and sweet in the mouth with a lingering, staining finish. I am so fortunate to have a few bottles left. Excellent effort.

Last magnum from the three I bought when appeared on the market. I believe that the wine reaches now its climax, with its velvety tannins and strong-deep though subdued woody-fruity aromas. For me the epitome of a classy italian wine, albeit without the complexity of a Barolo...

The nose was hauntingly dark and alluringly sweet with crushed black cherry, sweet herbs, licorice, confections spice, and over time becoming more savory with animal and earth tones. It was remarkably silky and soft on the palate with fleshy black cherry and blackberry brought to life by exotic spices with zesty acidity. Energetic yet dark and enveloping, it finished long with saturating dark red fruits and lingering minerality. The experience from start to finish was energetic yet dark and enveloping to the senses.
