Wow, this is such a big, rich wine that it's hard to believe its a '59 but the cherry fruit is so pure and sweet and the finish is so concentrated and complex with a lovely mineral component that I'm sure it's the real thing. The finish is fabulous and I would actually rate this higher if I was sure it wasn't a 10-year old Sonoma Coast Pinot (and a very good one at that). Amazingly youthful and will last for decades.

La Paulee Gala (San Francisco CA): Sensational aromas showing intense baking spice. Palate was far more muted and faded, mostly just showing earth and brown sugar character, not nearly as interesting. 95 point nose with an 83 point palate.

Rich black raspberry and soil tones. Elegant and poised. Small pour.

Dinner at Eugene's with Graves, Knox, Mitch Coz, and Michael B. Stunning! Amazing! Such perfect balance, sweet fruit, crisp and still vibrant acidity.
