Has a slightly sour aroma with more oxidation than I'd prefer, somewhat better on the palate with light cherry fruit and strong tannins. It's tight and somewhat square and lacking any appreciable charm. Not an excellent bottle and did not improve with air.

Pop and pour. What a wine. Pure aged Gevrey goodness with sweet earth, a touch of cola, dried raspberry. On the palate, wonderful density, but lovely lifted flavors from the still juicy acid. Tannin completelt attenuated on the long, dense finish. So elegant and a definite head-turner.

Brian's Bachelor's Party (Mizuki, Ngee Ann City): Lovely stuff - this was classic Faiveley, built to last. It had that lovely Beze nose, with gentle puffs of earth and bacon, mineral and herb and spice, all dancing around a deep draw of dark cherries, cassis and gentle florals. Masculine yet alluring. A lovely nose. The palate was nicely mature, with powdery tannins and nice acidity framing lovely l, open tones of dark cherries and blue fruit infused with little drifts or herb and spice, all this leading into a crunchy finish of earthy minerality. The nose was probably a bit more attractive than the palate, which felt a little hard at the edges, but overall this was a lovely drop. Very enjoyable indeed. About time to drink up though.

This bottle is excellent...the acid and big tannins that can make younger Faively heavy and austere to my taste have preserved the juice well and this is a great compromise between primary fruit and secondary and tertiary development.

Pinot Dinner (Chez Gill): The best kind of funky/earthy/barnyard upon opening. Great nose follows with more secondary notes and still loads of cherry fruit. On the palate, beautifully textured and balanced. Nice finish with very soft tannin.
