Thanksgiving Mondo Dinner 2023 (Atlanta, GA): Tasted double blind. I loved this wine. Red strawberry fruit, touch of spice, Grand Cru structure, sweet tannin, a touch of earth. I called it '10 Grand Cru, but that was as far as I got. This is young and will get much better with another 10 years of age. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it.

Dinner with RJ (Palmetto Bluff): Expressive nose displaying luxurious dark red fruit, dark cherry, raspberry, sous bois, rose, sap, perfume, light caramel, sweet spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, beautifully layered dark red fruit, sweet and generous, exceptional balance and detail, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long sweet dark fruit driven finish with rose, caramel and sous bois at the end. This is a beautiful complex Chambertin with generous fruit. Since 2005 when Erwan took over the Domaine, Faiveley has been making excellent wines. My impression is that the Faiveley wines do not get the recognition they deserve. It would be fascinating to include this in a blind tasting with the 10 Rousseau and Mortet Chambertin.
Heidi's Gang: Grand Cru and First Growths (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Medium plus ruby red color. PNP I believe, maybe uncorked here an hour plus before pouring. Drank a glass over 2.5 hours. Drank this side by with a stellar trifecta of Grand Cru Burgundies that included a 2008 Trapet Chambertin and a 2010 Meo-Camuzet Exhezeaux Les Rouge du Bas. What a joy to drink this trio of phenomenal wines together let alone separately. It is indeed a privilege that is not taken for granted. These wines were all stellar in their own right. The Beze was eye opening good. Sappy cherry and dark raspberry, just great high toned spice, tobacco, charcoal, mineral, very long and expansive. This is drinking great now and should be even better down the road. 95+pts.

Lonny's btl tonight at St Genevieve. Can't remember if this was PnP or had seen some air at home? This is a thoroughbred nearing the first corner of a race its sure to eventually win. This has everything going for it except the 15+yrs in btl it calls for. But even so, already impressive and a pleasure within context tonight. Not unlike seeing a young future hall of fame athlete just starting to hit their stride. At times this closed down in my glass tonight and especially my last sips. A great Beze in the making that will easily achieve more heights than my '08 J&L Trapet Chambertin, enjoyed along side it. In 5-10yrs. Tonight notable for its power, focus & delineation along with some tasty raspberry & impressive minerality & hints of tertiary to come. Dam, I wish I owned a couple of these! This could end up a 100pt wine in 10+yrs. Thanks Lonny!

This was totally closed on the first pour but opened up after an hour or so. Red fruit, mint, camomile, green stem, gingerbread. 10-15 second finish of spice and stem. Very good if not excellent just felt a tad sleepy compared to some other CT notes and the finish could be longer. I recall the ‘12 that I had a few months ago seemed more open at this stage. 94+
