Pop and pour. On the nose:.gevrey earth, coconut, spice, black pepper. On the palate: solid acidity, blackberry, raspberry coulis, black pepper, game. Soft, dusty tannin on the finish. At peak, imo.

Pop and pour a couple of days ago. On the counter unrefrigerated overnight since. Notes from 3 days open. On the nose: soft toast, coconut, sweet wild strawberry, barbecue sauce. On the palate: good acidity, good density and fantastic weight;.damp earth, plum, sawdust and soft spice with wispy tannin on the finish. This has plenty of room to grow.

About a year since my last btl, and this is in an excellent place. Lovely nose, with a suggestion of game, cinnamon and spice, wild strawberry, some savory herbs and cola. On the palate, good acidity, spicy strawberry, maybe slightly overdone oak, and very soft tannin on the finish, which is marred slightly by heat.

What a difference from the last bottle (which was flawed). Gorgeous nose, with a touch of earth, some cola and black fruit, and maybe a touch of toast. On the palate, excellent acidity, more black fruit and cola, a hint of leather and some real tannin on the juicy, and slightly tangy finish. An absolutely singing btl of Gevrey. Yum!
With more time improvement, more interesting flourishes of spiciness on the palate, and a piney note on the nose, vaguely reminiscent of some aged cote rotie.

Over the hill. Or funkified. Got from the bargain bin years ago.
