Gevrey City Tasting (Zoom / Chicago): I liked this better than most. Attractive dried black cherry with smoke and meat aromas. Round black cherry with good meaty spice complexity. Structure is a bit coarse in the finish. One to drink now.

Popped-and-poured, then enjoyed over three hours. Prototypically Gevrey from the start with ripe black cherry and plum with roasted meat and woodsy spice. A little dirty when first opened, which dissipated once open 15-20 minutes. This came across as rich and dense at the one-hour mark, when it was very enjoyable, balancing fresh and earth nicely. This started fading form that point, with the tannins and acidity becoming more pronounced once this was open for two hours.

Chicago Chardonnay Shootout (Chicago, IL): Very big and dark on both the nose and palate, but there was an extreme astringency to this bottle. Not sure what's going on...

Gevrey-Chambertin ("Downtown") 1er Cru Tasting (Chicagoland IL): Pales in comparison to 2002. Getting tired, losing steam with fully mature black fruit.
