  • Slightly non-descript old burg notes. No real sense of terroir, fruit a little muddled. Would like to revisit.

  • Weaker vintage, excellent producer, I was hoping for more. Color was translucent ruby with slight amber on the edges. Really inviting nose of red fruit and meatiness. At the beginning palate was medium weight and dominated more by acidity than fruit. After about 30 minutes things smoothed out a bit and red cherries began to come through. At about an hour fruit and meatiness became more apparent and wine was it its best. Acidity was still apparent, but not in the way. Finish was on the short side, but still an overall pleasant drink. Basically a Pommard Rugien from a weaker vintage that transcended the vintage, but still just a nice bottle of wine and nothing more.

  • Would you believe it? A mature Montille. Red fruit nose. Very rich on the palate, red berries, cherry, with a touch of meatiness. Almost elegant for a Pommard. Particularly great for the vintage.
