  • It's close to six years since my last note and I'm surprised at how little this has evolved in that time. Yellowish, but still very bright. Pear, melon, ripe grapefruit, steel and talc on the nose. Spirtzig still evident. Again, sweeter than I expected, and there has not been any evolution in the sugars that I can detect. Brisk, very pure and refined, with salinity showing on the red apple finish. This is fine kabinett which seems to be still in a primary phase and one for long-term cellaring.

  • Yellowish colour now. Yellow & red apple nose, with some exotic fruit, pear and sherbert as well. Develops a minor, custard-like character. The palate is very intense, with the peach and red apple flavours having a very good length. There is more weight here than last time. Plenty of spritzig. Despite the almost saline finish, there is a lot more sweetness which weaves in and out on the front and the middle palates, than I expected. This should blossom in a couple of years, as the sugars evolve. Fine kabinett.

  • I'm not sure that I got a good read on this. It feels like there is a lot of potential energy here and that the wine is coiled up still, but it's confusing because what's available now is very delicious and balanced. But there's something under the surface that feels like its worth waiting for.

  • Still a lovely wine. Energy and balance still there. The palate is fuller than the last bottle. Salinity in the finish is really very nice indeed.

  • Delicate floral scents and a hint of gout de petrol. Lovely lightness on the palate, and so well balanced with some length.
