This is serious stuff, but all 2017s from the best producers are still very young, almost closed. There is not even a minor hint of oxidation, the wine is superbly young as it has been made for long-term cellaring.
On the nose, there are still flowers, bit of white peach, lemon, and the strong smell of pure minerality which can't be found anywhere else in the world than Burgundy. Very balanced palate with a perfect salinity and medium plus finish. I give it 95+ as it only gets better in the next five years. Sauzet considers Combettes as his best 1er possession for a reason!
Always decant your young white burgundy, the air helps a lot and this one was so much better after 2 hours.

Salon Focofi Paris walkabout and dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. The 2014 (96pt) vs the 2017 (94+), both from MAG showed well with racy, liefht body and gun flint. The 2014 clearly had the more of everything advantage.

Seriously good juice. A few years ago when I was first tapping a number of Etienne Sauzet wines, they were showing undeniable purity and verve. Additionally, now they appear to be spreading their wings. If this Combettes is to be a relative example to go by, there is breadth and body bursting from the glass, with a distinct peachy and orange creamsicle/apricot-y profile that adds a tremendous degree of succulence here, perfectly counterbalancing the lemon, pear, chalk, and lime notes. With about an hour of air, this was absolutely singing. 95+ points. Drink now with air or hold for a few years.
QPR-wise at $200++ (currently $255 is the lowest I see on WineSearcher), it is a bit of a stretch. However, this makes a compelling argument as to why it should sit in the upper echelon of P-M 1ers. A great showing for this bottle.
Great nose of the bat that softens with time; citrus, orchard fruit and a touch of minerals. Full body that relaxed with time; great acidity and lift. Succulent finish. Very young but very good. Upside from here

Good showing, clean and broad, slightly reduced.
