Community Tasting Notes (8) Median Score: 91 points

  • Still to young? Great body and lots of finesse, but did not really wow us. Pulled and poured. Would have benefited from a proper decant.

  • Dense, tart red fruit punctuated by baking spice. Refreshingly, a bit lighter than most of what I’ve tasted from the appellation, but still with quite a sleekly muscular structure. It softened and became more interesting with air, but after about 90 minutes notes emerged that revealed its age. I wouldn’t wait too much longer to give it a go. Or maybe it just needs to get over that hump to become something greater. What the hell do I know.

  • This was another 'pretty' 2007 albeit in the muscular mould of Corton. It had a quite dense cherry red colour with a lovely nose of raspberry, cherry and pomegranate leading into earthy gamy notes. The palate was mid weight with crunchy fruit and a fine limestone edge to the finish that added refreshment and balance. It is drinking beautifully with no signs of winding down.

  • Coravin glass. Healthy garnet color with only a touch of browning at the rim. Initially very tight, the wine opens up with more air. Still a bit shy though with dry red fruit, elevated acidity, fine tannins, good length. A wine that demands attention and seems still on the upswing. Less showy than the more fruity 07 Tollot Beaut Corton Bressandes and much fresher (and better) than Bouchards 07 Le Corton. 91+

PS: Drank rest of ‘coravined’ bottle the next day. Showing now excellent balance and finesse. Fine wood spices pairing nicely with the precisely drawn fruit. Good length too. Solid 93

  • Some tart berry smells on the nose. With a bit of air you get a hint of truffle and plenty of earth. It is compact, direct and linear in the mouth with loads of mineral and some pomegranate and cranberry fruits. It is not a large scaled Corton but is nicely proportioned and balanced.
