Casual (Mostly) Burg Dinner with Friends (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Apricot and orange peel. Aromas gave an impression this might be more sweet, unctuous textures almost implied the same, but flavors are bone dry and nicely balanced, even if seemingly reticent for right now, teasing us with its concentration and potential. Give this more time int he cellar.

Showing better this time than all my previews tastings. Nose offers quince, pear, tea leaves, ginger, chamomile and herbs. Palate is smooth, oily and almost thick textured very clean, very balanced and flavorful with notes of ripe apple and quince.

Golden color. Nose and palate of acacia honey, white flowers and lime. Quite rich, little fat in the texture and medium to full bodied. Missing a bit minerality.

Color is surprisingly light lemony given the age. Nose has medium intensity with citrus fruit, quince, pear, tea leaves, chamomile and herbs. Palate is very flavorful with ripe apple and quince a suspicion of oxidative notes. I would not describe acidity as low yet it is not high but the wine manages to combine crispiness with an oily texture as it has gained some weight through aging. Alcohol is noticeable. Decent aftertaste. Not a great Chante-Alouette but still a very fine wine and one capable of further aging.

Has started to give some oxidative notes.
Still a great wine. Classic white Hermitage.
