The first of two bottles bought a few months ago in auction. This one was weeping although still upper shoulder. The cork came out in two pieces. Surprisingly good. Complex nose and flavours you would pay a fortune for in Burgundy, yet this bottle was only £40. Orange, anise, cedar and more. Medium to light fruit and charming lacy balance. Tannins fully resolved. Finish on the short side. Very moreish.

Well above expectations, the cork didn't come off like I hoped, but immediately a very strong, alcoholic arome came a live. This wine is still very drinkable. It smells like raisin, strawberry jam, orange, bark and butterscotch. It tastes like leesy. The body is light/medium. The wine has coarse texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has medium acidity. Drink up now, you'll have a pleasant bottle to drink up

It took about an hour of decanting for this to open up, but once it did it had subtle notes of cassis and kirsch on a slender frame. It is on a glorious decline, and there are still signs of greatness, but I imagine this was a stronger wine 10 or 15 years ago.

from a friend. the cork was dry and when attempting to pull the cork dropped in to the bottle with only light pressure. Dark opaque color with port like nose. Initial taste, off, not vinegar. After an hour there was definite TCA present. Not drinkable. Amazing how 30 years can go by so fast saving that special bottle for the special time to no avail. But it had to be done.

A vertical tasting of Château Duhart-Milon 1975-2012 (Restaurant Vineum, Rotterdam, NL): Attractive nose, warm, slightly burnt in a good way, vestiges of fruit, more body and weight than the 1975, nice concentration for its age, good tannic structure and balance, lovely length. Holds up well in the glass. Far superior to the 1975.
