Cork complete, broke in two after removal. Almost black in appearance in decanter, with a bit of brick on the rims of the glass. Tons of glycerin. A bit acidic and then sweet. After one hour the wine gains some balance and prunes emerge, but that`s about it.

A very interesting wine to enjoy. Opened about an hour t hour and a half before dinner. Was very BDX stinky upon initial opening and the cork was definitely used to the max. Over the evening the wine opened up and continually evolved. At its peak it had bright red raspberry fruit, cocoa, cedar and mushrooms. It would fade quickly in the glass but the wine in the bottle held up all night... So small pours are recommended. Love '61 Bordeaux as even the lesser chateau produced long lasting and interesting wines.

Bottle took about an hour for it to really start singing. Great fruit still and zero tannin. Didn't last very long in the glass before the nose blew off, but it was still great out of the bottle.
