BYO with friends (Wee Family Coffeeshop): Medium tawny. Tannins completely soft and resolved, with very tertiary flavours of cooked tart cherry, brambles, red flowers, cloves, pepper, and pencil shavings towards the back. Long finish. No doubt it would have gone past the hill, the resultant flavours are still enjoyable. Nice!

Ard & David’s 50th birthday dinner (Chez David, Amsterdam, NL.): Mid shoulder level. Fully mature appearance; attractive nose, smoky, even a hint of coffee (high toast?), transparent and fresh; nice hint of sweetness on the attack, light and fresh palate, still together, cedar; slightly green finish, but good length.
