  • Young now, not in a sense that is difficult or closed but in the sense that is just a juicy, fruit driven wine and in a way one dimensional. A fine wine for sure but ( and especially for the price) this needs time to evolve further and grow a more secondary side. Once there it will for sure be magnificent but for now is almost wasted. 91-92

  • Let me please start with a story of this remarkable day,
in my house there are 4 climat wine cabinets,
as a wine nerd wihout the accuracy of one Eric le vine, I still note down by hand on paper, all my wines, purchase, auctions,
the full cellar 60km abroad though,

never really got familiar with computers, write a note, a mail, informations, but thats it,

so busy looking for one special Rousseau, one bottle in the right , one, two in left hand,
dropped one, crushed, the sharps cut an 6cm wound,

    hospital, sewn, back home,

invited, wanted to bring my one and only Gevrey 2010 Rousseau to my friends, the crushed one,

    so grabbed this bottle finally,

a little shy on the nose in the beginning, did not develop much scent at first, o. k. shy fruit, some forest floor,
needs one hour to come more together, fine dark fruit on the palate, forest floor, some mineral grip, and meaty as meaty can be,
finesse like swallowing, lovely silky flow but in the finish the unrevealed fist,
long convincing aftertaste, great bottle, **(**), around 92, 93 potential in a decade++,

very different showing from the Fremiets from the afternoon, but Bourgogne is my favourite, as there are many other fine ones worldwide!

  • Dark cherries, underbrush, smoke, graphite. Fine texture on the palate. The mouth perfume here is lifted and persistent. Tannins melding in well now.

  • Coravin- fun, so poured a full Bourgogne glass, choose this vintage cause found some other bottles in a very good condition right now, and the 2009 vintage is more open than others,
the nose is full of herbs and meaty aromas, flowered, earthy, in the background some dark fruit,
the palate shows nearly the same, not much fruit today, a lot of steak meat and forest floor, good spicy flow, all on the very elegant side, not much weight but deepness of flavors here, think, needs some more time in the bottle to reveal more, very long intense finish, not sure how to rate this, **(*-****), around 91, 92(+) potential, for today

  • An Embarrassment of Riches: Dinner at Chez Dalluge (Dave & Desi's Place, Somewhere in Western MN): Medium red color. Drank a glass over an hour plus in a trio with an '05 d'Angerville Volnay 1er Clos des Ducs and '10 Gelin Chambertin-Clos de Beze. I'm going to prety much echo Chablis28's coments as they mirror my own thoughts. A solid wine, lots of minerality, firm and more austere structure, tart, a bit metallic minerality, and cherry fruit. The fruit does sit in the background here and there isn't the purity you'd expect - especially for the vintage.
