Vinetasters-2003 Bordeaux (Holiday Inn, Niles IL): Nose: There is a creaminess to the nose with upfront tones of marmalade, meyer lemons, quince, and some toasty notes too. There is decent depth with a forward quality to it.
Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium/low acidity. The palate is a bit flabby, but there are good tones of marmalade, meyer lemons, orange peels, and some toast tones.
Overall: This was a bit hard to identify blind. While it should've been expected, it was hard to tell that it was a bordeaux blanc blind as it seemed somewhat like a Chardonnay.

A lot of Sauvignon blanc on the nose and palate with grapefruit and hint of grass. A light honey touch on the finish signals the presence of semillon. A little simple, nevertheless enjoyable.

Deep straw. This offers floral, apple, some vanilla, a slight petrol note and, as it warms and breathes, some subtle lime. Nice complexity. Feels pretty fat on the palate. Very restrained and quite dry. Ooozes class. Haven't had enough high-end white bordeaux to tell whether this will age further. Nice to drink now, especially at the $16.99 closeout price I found it for. 89-90.

Long past prime. Low acidity, but some interesting flavors on the finish still lingering.

Craig and Nita's Wine Barbecue: A blend of semillon and sauvignon blanc, with notes of melon and mineral. No detailed notes.
