NoMad Cupola
Tasted Tuesday, January 29, 2019 by nywine68 with 222 views
An eye-opening tasting of the wines of Bouchard with owner/president Gilles de Larouziere. A great line-up that showcased the talents of this under-rated estate.
The Henriot Cuvee 38 blancs de blancs and 1958 Ch. Vilargeil Rivesaltes that book-ended the tasting were each delicious as well.
2009 Bouchard Père et Fils Clos Vougeot 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Fragrant nose of black cherry with some licorice. A little steely and tight on the mid-palate. Smokey finish. Opened up further as the evening progressed.

2004 Bouchard Père et Fils Echezeaux 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
A bit more acidity than the 2009 Clos Vougeot. Bacon notes. Smooth and easy drinking wine.
