Blind. Mature yellow and green apples, brioche, a hint of minerals, after a while som red apples as well; moderate body and fine structure, fairly smooth, some bitterness in the finish.
Blind. Tight and reductive with some sulphur; fresh and long, precise but not the most complex -- rather linear, gains some complexity with air, though. Young.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Blind. Mature nose with some yellow apples, hint of brioche (!) and oak; long and complex in the mouth, glorious length and finish. Broad shouldered, but not in an overdone way. What a surprise!
Blind. Wonderful nose, mature and complex -- in a good place now, fine maturity to the fruit as well -- balancing acidity. Complex. Ha! Finally a good bottle!
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Blind. Oyster shells, baked lemon, minerals, tight; fine graded and elegant, nervy and intense, seems very young and promising. Rating for now. (At hindsight a considerable step up in quality/wine making from the 2010)
Blind. rather developed, but not in any oxed way, a hint of camphor, big body, intense, rich and complex wine. Surprising style for the produced, the most developed boisson-Vadot I have had.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru
Much red left; mature strawberries and rosehips, red fruited; fined grained, mature sweet fruit, intense, very long, gloriously complex finish. Bottle opened at 5:50 PM, and the last sip at 02:30 AM was still very energetic.
A ringer in a Burgundy line-up. Sweet fruit, pleasant, in-your-face kind of wine, berries, not much structure, a hint of smoke. Most guessed something aka Fourrier.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Blind. Color hinted about some maturity; red fruited, complex nose, yet somewhat rustic; very pleasant and 'drinkable' good acid, well balanced, some depth.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Blind. Smoke, berries leaning towards blackthorn, serious and deep nose; youthful and structured wine that opens a bit with air, most promising. Rating for now.
