Chiseled and minerally with lots of yellow and green apple, very long finish, maybe just a hint too tart. IMHO a bit more dosage would make this very good wine into a great wine.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
In vertical. Black and red berries start to finish, mostly fresh while faintly maturing. Roasted meat and meaty spice in support. Grand Cru density. Seamless textures. Better now than ever before.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
In vertical. Lots of dense and powerful black fruit with, with noticeable structure. Less complexity vs my favorite vintages tonight, but some preferred it based on its sheer size and volume.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
In vertical. Mostly mature black fruit with braised meat and nearly sweet spice. Lots of earth. Good+ weight. I haven't had this wine in many years so had very expectations, that were slightly missed.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
In vertical. Not quite ready by at least 5 years, so so much beauty here already with very good balance. Ripe, powerful black fruit array with great density.

Lean green apple with lemon throughout, still bright with a nicely mature character. Very long, enticing finish. Good through 2030.

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Fleshy ripe apple on nose and palate, Grand Cru density, very good weight, good balance, ever-so-slightly dirty on finish.

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Floral and nicely spiced, combining fresh and mature orchard fruit. Rich and fleshy, this is still fresh enough. Drink within in the next 3-5 years.

2014 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Corton-Charlemagne
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Massively reductive, so tough to assess. I expect the reduction would blow off, but it did not in the 30 minutes in glass. Great stuff behind that.

2012 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Rich and nearly tropical with a hint of assertive structure, so lots of great things going on even if this didn't seem perfectly harmonious tonight.

In vertical. Very characteristic of the 2007 vintage, this is balanced and charming, but on the light side for Rousseau's Clos St. Jacques.
