Totally different than my previous bottle last year. This was purchased in the OC. It was sweeter and more like a non descript chunky RRV pinot. I have a few more I got from John, so hopefully it will show that tart cranberry seamless PN I grew to love.

This has really changed or at least this bottle. The acidity has perked up significantly. Very tight on opening, needing about 30-60 minutes of air. Lemon zest, oyster shell and minerals. Beautifully composed, pairing so well with a diverse array of food (tonight was fusilli with clams, Serrano, pecorino, garlic and roasted cherry tomatoes). It’s amazing how this wine went from low acidity and almost flabby to tight with punchy acidity. I have one bottle left that I will likely drink this coming year.

Kinda horrific. It goes to show, one man’s 98 pointer is another’s 75 pointer, and I’m being generous. This was so oaky and manipulated, it obscured any variety character this wine may have possessed.

Pnp. Electric crimson. Singing from the get go. A perfect place. Nice tart cherries, clove and other baking spices. A bit of sous bois, foresty underbrush. So glad to have enjoyed this wine’s evolution. I have one bottle left.

And the RM excitement continues. Recently had the '10 So Co and really enjoyed it. This was steps above in both complexity and enjoyment. Savory and plush, exotic and generous, this wine was drinking as good as a domestic PN can get before tertiary development. An exquisite perfumed nose with animal, leather and raspberry aromas. Wonderful raspberry and cherry fruits with some mild baking spice on the palate. Long on the back end with a full mid palate punch, the wine just showed beautifully. Backroad says it's the best PN he's had all year. Cudos TRB!

This is a really nice value white. Showing nice citrus and pear flavors with plenty of acidic lift. Slightly short on the finish, but nothing to really complain about. This is easily one of the best Chardonnays for the price year in and year out.

Am I crazy to be drinking a Rose from Corey at 6 yrs of age? Shit this stuff was still kickin'. I guess it's the Mourved keepin' it goin'. Unfiltered & Unfined. Quite a bit of fine sediment. Nice deep earthy red & blue berry profile. Not a deep intensity but definitely alive. Glad I got a chance to try this. I found the bottle one day at CCWS lookin for stuff for a tasting, going thru cases. WTF...'03 Rose. I couldn't believe it. Congrats Dave-O!

Wow! Just beautifully pungent aromas pour from the glass. This is divine in the mouth. The flavors are savory yet also fruity, with a sharp and focused profile. The finish goes on. This is a great Loire SB. Probably will drink well for a few years.

Nice wine, but I don't get the hoopla. Nicely red fruited with a little spice and savory. The palate tasted fresh with nice length and a smooth texture, but I wasn't blown over. You could sense the carbonic influence here as there was an underlying grapiness, which for me is not at all intriguing in a Burg. Don't get me wrong, the wine was lovely and enjoyable, especially at the CW discount $, but had paid the standard rate, I'd be somewhat irked. I have a btl of the 1er CM to try, but may age it a bit.

Smokey, floral aromas. Tastes of red fruits (cherry) and spice, though these are still primary. I like the density here with the mid palate quite full. Shows nice minerality and length. I like this a lot and should be really nice with some age.

EWG does 2002 Burgundy (Palate Wine & Food (Glendale, CA)): this was handed to me. Ahh, rocks, gravel, minerals and acidity. Subtle citric flavors. Almost no detectable dosage. Nice way to wake up the palate. Needed food. Recolte Noir means dark harvest which led to jokes deeming this "satanic wine".

Lovely wine. Aromatics were generous. Sois bois, dark cherry compote, pine resin. Rather dense but not chunky. Oak is very evident but then so is the fruit, which leads me to believe the oak will further resolve. Try again in 2014.

Super young and tight initially. Tart, sour fruit on my first taste. Shy aromatics. I even allowed the last glass to warm up which can bring out the profile, but not tonight. This barely budges over the course of an hour and a half. My other bottles will get at least a year of rest.

Decanted for about 1-1.5 hours. Lots of hype on the RP 100 pointer. It is a massive, well endowed wine that is just loaded with ripe-bordering on over-ripe fruit. It is massively tannic and just enormous in its texture, flavors and structure. A CdP on steroids is not an exaggeration. No doubt this wine needs extended cellaring before it remotely resembles a CdP. It's not my style, but could certainly prove to be a good wine once the multiple layers of fat are shed. Judgment reserved.

This is still a relatively young Brut. Quite rich but not heavy in the least bit. Butterscotch, baked breads and green apples on the nose that improve and show greater intensity after a few hours. Flavors continue on the palate with a pronounced acidity that settles in time. The bead is fine and non intrusive. This is a superb wine that should develop into a great wine.

I've seen the notes over time regarding oxidation and I believe TRB has gone on record to explain that O2 was introduced, unintentionally, during pre-bottling. Whatever the case may be, this bottle from magnum, was glorious. One of the best CA Chard experiences I can remember. Wonderfully aromatic with a profound balance of richness, acid and length. Lemon curd, with the occasional pineapple flavors and a very complex nose. It seemed very Meursault 1er Cru to me in character (think Matrot Perrieres without the premox). This bottle never let up over the course of the evening. I kept going back to it all night and with 13 people around, not a drop left. Divine stuff!

Virtual WBers tasting: P’N'P. Open aromatics out of the gate. Some definite sweet and sour red fruits, perhaps raspberry. There's a slight high tone sweet note on the nose. The aromatics just pour out of the glass within 1.5 hrs. The wine enters with a lovely, even, and somewhat elegant texture. All this and the fruit is still somewhat primary flavors without a lot of tertiary notes. Red fruited, sour cherry meets raspberry flavors. The mid palate is full and carries through to a long lingering finish. You would not mistake this for anything but what it is. The Sonoma coast is smiling.
