This is a big wine that right now is powerful and very expressive. It's deep and has tremendous flavor and a long finish. Right now the tannins are still front and center but with a few hours of air and some food it shows terrific balance and the tannins fade and turn somewhat silky. This is a terrific wine but needs a few more years. If you open now give it several hours and enjoy with food. I can't wait to try this in 5 years. |

Fruit is opulent, deeply dark and interlaced with layers of herbs and sweet spices. Finish is insisting with leather, menthol and loads of liqorice. Lots of spice that moved in and out of dominance, giving this wine the kind of interest that leads one to savor the aroma for long periods. This was in near perfect balance front to back, with the fruit carrying all the way to the long, long finish. Just a magnificent Nebbiolo in its prime and hitting on all cylinders. I am not sure why this bottle dazzled me so much more than the last one. |

Spicy, with ample fruit and classic crunchy tannins make this a perfect wine to pair with meats and richer foods. Drank over 3 days. Will improve over next 3-5 years. |

This wine gained weight, intensity of flavors and complexity over the evening, which makes me think that I hadn't given its 1st outing long enough to show its true colors. I'm therefore raising the score from 93 to 94 as it just crossed the border into outstanding. |

Pale pinky maroon, you can see your hand through it ... Lifted aromatics, very attractive. Red cherries, strawberries, rose petals, menthol and crushed fresh herbs. In the mouth, a savoury, herbal entry. Savoury and dry across the palate including on the moderately long finish. Red currants, some strawberries, tilled warm soil and blood orange. Below mid weight but with sufficient concentration and volume. Vigorous acids. Satiny tannins. Elegant and refined. Excellent! Drink or hold. |

It is like every stroke is painted on a clean canvas. Tannins are silky and acidity is pure. Wonderful spices, mint, roses, leather etc. give the overtones to the ripe plum and blackberries. Should evolve over the next decade or so. Highly recommended |
