1/10/2009 - pcarmich wrote: 91 pointsThe nose is at first citrus fruit, then I get salt stone which is very interesting. On the palate, the initial tangerine attack is followed by a creaminess that is fairly quickly overtaken by an explosion of acidity that goes on and on. Throughout, I also get a certain amount of saltiness that would make this wine very food friendly, in my opinion. A very good bottle! |

5/3/2014 - isaacjamesbaker wrote: 89 pointsA straw-banana peel color. The nose is a fresh combination of honeysuckle, white peach, also some oyster shell and sea breeze notes. Clean acid and a plump but balanced mouthfeel. The green apple, lime, apricot and papaya notes are fresh and tangy, backed up by mountain stream, mineral and a slight green tea note. Very brisk and refreshing (13.2% alcohol) a beautiful summer sipper but enough complexity and length to keep it really interesting. |

10/13/2009 - kosinski wrote: 82 pointsVery dry, with aromas and flavors of apple, pineapple and citrus. Seems to work better on its own than when paired with food. At least, it didn't seem to go very well with the Picadillo de Pescado (red snapper in a hot-sour-sweet tomato sauce) we had for dinner. The recipe said an Albarino would make a good pairing, but this one didn't. |

6/6/2009 - pcarmich wrote: 92 pointsJust as before, the nose is quite interesting, a mix of citrus fruits and salt stone with just a hint of basil. The palate is jsut as complex with green apples, basil, loads of minerality and really crisp acid on the finish. This is really an astounding wine! |

3/20/2009 - brombie wrote: 84 pointsMy first Albarino! I thought it tasted like Riesling but it's smoother and muted. Acidity is okay but I wish it's ramped up a bit. This has a common problem with CA rieslings: disjointed transitions between mid palate and back end. Too much heat and bitterness. I could drink a couple of glasses of this on the novelty of my first Albarino, but I don't think I'll be seeking for it actively. |

3/10/2012 - AlexGarner Likes this wine: 93 pointsStars of the Melbourne Wine and Food Festival (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): This wine has a really great balance of fruit and texture. Melon and honey on the nose with some orange as well. The palette is very smooth, filled with soft yellow fruit that is both delicate and in balance. There is a nice spicy mineral finish. |

1/7/2008 - poptart_nyc wrote: 90 pointsthis came on very high recommendation. as a spanish wine lover, as a bonny doon lover, i'm curious. slight effervesence, light color. waxy nose, minerals, not much fruit. following susana balbo's torrontes- this is quite restrained. to judge as an albarino--- complexity, with notes of dry grapefruit. richer mouthfeel. tangy finish- acidity keeps it going through the deep mineral quality. for a brief second, i questioned if this was oaked. i think this has a quality that allows it to stand without flirting. dinner was a stew of chorizo, chicken, rice and red beans, with lime, tequila, chiles and garlic. quite nice. |

3/2/2008 - jhannah27 wrote: 82 pointsWhile this wasn't as aweful as some of the other wines that they make, it was tart and cheap tasting. It actually tasted better with the Chinese food that we had, but in no way would I seek this out. After a few shipments of Bonny Doon's wine club that we received as a gift, it is becoming to apparent to me that they are better at whites than reds, but not by much. |

7/12/2008 - drdebs wrote: 88 pointsVery good albarino, made biodynamically by Grahm in the latest Doon evolution. Pale straw in color. Aromas of honeysuckle are strong and unmistakable. Flavors of meyer lemon, with some sea spray and a slightly bitter grapefruit oil note in th finish. Why can't his reds be this good? Got this in a club shipment, but it was also available to regular buyers. |

7/29/2008 - behm0027 wrote: 86 pointsThe nose had aromas of steel, apricot, nuttiness, and a touch of banana. Tart lemon on the palate. With very lively acidity, this Albariño was not well balanced. The acidity overwhelmed the delicate aromas detectable on the nose. Decent food wine, but poor QPR at $17-$19. |

10/31/2014 - Rezy13 Likes this wine: NRDeeper yellow green; white peach, salty, hay, tart yellow and green fruit; fatter then a great acid and mineral wave sweeps the palate clean, salty, savory, very Albarino showing more character than many commercial wines from Rias Baixas; very good. |
