1996 Château Lynch-BagesPauillac Red Bordeaux Blend more |
7/9/2016 - Zweder wrote: 92 pointsIn the bouquet dark forest fruits and vanilla from the beautifully dosed oak. On the palate at first not completely fresh, but that blew off. Classical with cassis and other dark berries, sweet spices, mild acidity and soft tannin. Imho this bottle is already quite mature, but certainly very nice. Many preferred this wine above the Ausone in the same flight. For me and a few others it was the other way around. (The wines were poured blind.) |

1985 Château Lynch-BagesPauillac Red Bordeaux Blend more |
8/24/2016 - William Kelley Likes this wine: 95 pointsThe 1985 is a great success in a glorious decade for Lynch Bages: more complex and elegant than the dense and textural '82; more open-knit and expressive than the more stern and longer-lived '89. A projected bouquet of cedar, cassis, gravelly soil tones and subtle nori top notes is followed by a refined, intense and beautifully balanced wine with intense flavours and lovely complexity. Just beautiful claret. |

8/21/2016 - conviction buy Likes this wine: 96 pointsBt decanted for 4 hrs, med to deep crimson with bricking rim. Sweet cassis, dried leaves, tobacco and a hint of smoky coffee beans. Very smooth on palate, sweet but very fresh on the back of acidity and mildly noticible tannin, very refined. Not a very concentrated wine but plenty of aroma, power without weight. Sublime ! |

8/20/2016 - Vino Monkeys Likes this wine: 96 pointsWow. Complex, developed aromas of cassis, black and blue fruit, new leather, and pencil lead. Medium plus acidity and high, ultra fine, but still very pronounced, tannins. Long finish. Spectacular, but more time in the bottle will improve this for sure. 4 people found this helpful, do you? 8/15/2016 - tooch wrote: 87 pointsDinner at Marc's (Marc's Apartment - Chicago, IL): From half bottle. After the 1961 Trotanoy, we wanted to try it alongside another 1961 - this time, from the Left Bank. Grabbed the Lynch and popped and poured it directly from the cellar. Wasn't nearly as pristine as the Trot, but did have some nice qualities to it. The cedar, tobacco notes were lingering, but a lot of the fruit had gone away. I liked the wine, but it lived in the shadows of the Trot. |

8/2/2016 - lgeeker Likes this wine: NRTuesday Night Double Blind Tasting, $60+ (Bin 75): Tobacco and earth nose. Dark color. On the palate a little rich, but not too much, age is just about right. I went '95 Pauillac, but understand how the richness was probably more a character of 2000. In a pretty good spot. |

8/11/2016 - Force5 wrote: 91 pointsThursday Night Tasting with Tim and Friends: Classic graphite-minerally-black fruit aromas. Good, understated balance. I would guess that this only just started drinking nicely but I’m thinking this is a bit simple and direct, like 10 years from optimum drinkability. Just for now and for me, good not great, with potential to improve. |

8/5/2016 - Burgnick wrote: 92 pointsDecanted for 4 hours. Tonight coming from a 750ml. Nose was less beautiful than last time as it was mostly dominated by green pepper and grass. Palate however was more expressive with round and dark black fruit and truffle oil. There could be some bottle variation. |
