Fabulous concentration without being in any way thick or sweet. Stunning old vine complexity of flavours and well integrated oak - so that there's no trace of where the fruit ends and the oak begins. Powerful yet lifted and fresh with a wonderful purity of fruit which reminds me of Sassicaia. Drinking very well now although this will clearly age. A delicious bottle and a masterclass in restraint and elegance. Not the same wine I tasted in the spring. |

Still young and definitely on the Bordeaux side of Napa with a very reasonable level of alcohol, wonderful crisp acids and great floral lift. The finish sports a perfect espression of Napa Cabernet in my opinion with subtle notes of black currants, dark chocolate, espresso beans and sweet dark earth. Lovers of full-throttle, high-alcohol Napa Cabs will probably find this underripe and lean but to each his own. 95+ |
