Nose: The nose has a rounded quality to it with red apples, pears, quince, kumquat, toast, brioche, yellow flowers, baking spices, mint, and stone fruits.

Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with crisp, high acidity. The acidity is well-integrated and balanced along with a textured feel of red apples, pears, quince, toast, brioche, baking spices, mint, green tea, and stone fruits.

Overall: This looks to be a new bottling from Egly-Ouriet and I like it. It's well balanced and with a softer, more approachable side to it than the rest of their line. This is more fresh than their normal Brut and is an excellent introduction into Egly.

Tasted on day 2. Small bubbles on this Rosé Brut that has a nice pale orange salmon-ish kind of color. The nose is strawberry, orange but not too "zesty," honeysuckle. The entry takes me back to my childhood where I was eating one of those orange creamsickles, only this is the adult version.....nice indeed. Also present was strawberry and mango. Zesty, but not a lot of citrus influence here. Finishes with a satisfying herbal "wild fruit" thing going on. Very nice and complex rosé bubbles here. I'd say this has zero signs of decline at this point. Upside here for at least another 10 years.

Egly-Ouriet Millésime 2007.

Druvor: 70% Pinot Noir & 30% Chardonnay.
Alla druvor kommer från Ambonnay. Vidare är champagnen ekfatslagrad och ofiltrerad.

Stor mogen doft. Inledningsvis en lekfull kombination av mogna äpplen och fattoner. Efter en stund surdeg, kryddor, mandel och vanilj. Smaken bjuder på mogna äpplen, citronkaramell, rostat bröd, en mjuk kryddighet en otrolig närvaro och lång eftersmak. Vilken tension, vilken struktur, den fullständigt vägrar att dö i glaset. Det är alltid en ynnest att få dricka Eglys årgångschampagne.

Very impressive. Has a Chambolle-feel (I went for that, as several others), a chalky feel and a very good intensity; fine ligt at the end, extremely elegant, vintage-assisted, maybe, yet a treat it is indeed.

Gyllengul färg
Stor, komplex doft av rivna hasselnötter, honung, guld, gula övermogna äpplen, victoriaplommon, orientaliska kryddor, farinsocker. Fantastisk, komplex, underbar doft.
I munnen oerhört fint balanserad. Fin syra. Energisk sammetslen mousse. Rund, krämig kropp. Härllg midpalate med stort djup och lager på lagerkänsla. Rik, härlig textur. Lång nötkryddig finish.

En riktig fullträff :)

One of three bottles of bubbly (2014 Ultramarine BdN and 2010 Larmandier-Bernier VV du Levant) opened when a good friend was in town. EO is one of my favorite champagne producers, but this was actually my first experience with the rosé.

5yrs on the lees, disgorged mid 2019. Slightly orange pink in the glass. Initially, it was very razor sharp and intense. Jasmine, orange zest, and dried apricots on the nose. On the palate, the intensity picked up with a strong backbone of limestone, chalk, tangerine and some honeysuckle. When this paired with food, it showed its true colors with a touch more body and richness. Even more impressive was how much better this was on day two...likely a champagne that could benefit from a decant at this age. Much more creamy and showing more red Berry fruit like raspberries, rhubarb and also a little floral. Yeast driven notes didn’t appear until day two. Complex, intense and lots of potential.

Golden color, very fine bubbles, strongly effervescent. Nice blend of lemon peel, orange blossom, toast, some secondary earthy notes, slightly smoky finish. Nicely integrated, very pleasant.

Similar notes with orange the dominant fruit. Fruit and flowers dominate the nose.

Outstanding tonight. Full bodied, brioche, toasty palate but retaining freshness and fruit. Drink now and over the next 2-3 yrs. This was a 2012 disgorgement.

Very strong acidity and granite-like minerality. Lemon biscuit present but cannot overcome the bracing structure. Very fine effervescence. Still backward. I opened this thinking 2006 should be drinking well now, but this seemed too soon. Very classy but not that much pleasure yet compared with other Eglys I have had. I think you should forget this for a few years more.
Score :92. Relative to expectations: 0.

Out of Mag, this started out somewhat tight and a bit citric but opened nicely as it warmed. Agree with the bruised Apple comment, as this has some telltale signs of the warm vintage but good crispness. (93-94)

The New Years Eve wine that ushered out the nightmare that was 2020. I've been saving this bottle for several years, and it was perfect for the occasion. Intensity of aromas and flavors are very strong: in fact, through the roof compared to most other Champagnes. Popping the cork filled the entire room with the delicious smell of apples, bread, red and yellow fruits, sour cherries, brioche, and all the other classic Pinot-based Champagne aromas. The taste did not disappoint either. Classic, concentrated, intense and delicious. My non-wine-enthusiast drinking partner uttered an "ooooo, this is good" at the first sip.

But as the previous reviewers mentioned, this is surprisingly fragile; it was wonderful upon opening and fizzled out in a couple of hours. The mousse dissipated quickly, and the wine out of the bottle tasted much better than a few hours later. Given this experience, I would recommend drinking sooner rather than later. And forget about that silly Champagne decanting technique that some people do- not for this stuff! Pop, pour, and enjoy!

Very much enjoyed this with caviar for new years eve.

a good potential here, but damn young right now, we drunk 2013 vintage we think based on what we read on the bottle, nose very elegant, fine bubble, palate very citrusy, slightly sour and acid but telling me that its a good wine but to try again in 5 years+

Dég. 05/2016. Beautiful rosé/golden color. Super expressive, but elegant and full of finesse, this is showing notes of small red berries, „forest“ strawberries, tonic notes, some chalky minerality, also some citrus zest, sweet spices and a touch of brioche and honey. It‘s full-bodied, with excellent mid-palate persistence, high refreshing acidity cutting through the richness and subtle, perfectly integrated mousse. Very vinous, with the incredible class Egly-Ouriet is able to achieve, there is a long finish with excellent complexity and beautiful tension and minerality. From my perspective year after year their best wine in their amazing line-up.

I love this champagne. Drier than most (at least perceived) extremely acidic, but elegant floral and berry notes. I think it will get better with some more bottle age so will try to stop drinking these down so quickly!
Also, we opened our champagnes in the wrong order. This one would have gone much better with food, while the Paul Dethune we opened later had just a touch of sweetness that would have been more enjoyable on its on.
Either way, I am not complaining, I could drink both of them all day every day. Happy New Year!

A big, ripe and concentrated nose of yeast, bread and ripe apples and pears. The palate is concentrated but balanced. Rich with notes of freshly baked bread, flowers and apples. Very fine bubbles. Just terrific. Disgorged October 2019.
