4/7/2024 - cogo44 Likes this wine: NRLovely bright golden colour in the glass. The nose is an appealing amalgam of peaches and cream and nougat. Barrel fermentation is very evident in the mix. The palate has a creamy texture backed with enough acid to carry the fruit weight to the back palate. A very food friendly chardonnay that exemplifies the Margaret River in spades. |

12/24/2021 - 750ml Likes this wine: 85 pointsPlum with some vanilla and mulberry on the nose. Medium mouthfeel with balance leaning toward spice on the palate, while mulberry and blackcurrant come through nicely. Well integrated tannins follow mid-way into the finish. Paired with beef brisket, roasted potatoes and carrots. |

11/4/2021 - 750ml Likes this wine: 85 pointsSomewhat closed nose displaying plum, licorice and mulberry after half an hour. Palate of cassis and mulberry forward, with some cedar and indistinguishable herbs. Thin to medium mouthfeel over a fine tannic backbone. Medium length finish with a touch of heat at the end. Paired nicely with spaghetti Bolognese. |

5/8/2021 - Moloko Likes this wine: 91 pointsA fine wine. Herbal notes are to the fore with blackberry and fine dusty tannin that becomes fully integrated the next day. The first day the mid palate was a little empty, but become a fully formed wine the next day with exemplary length. This is a wine that will improve with age, not touching another for at least 5 years. |

5/2/2021 - Avid Wino wrote: 90 pointsBlack and red currants, black olive. Menthol and eucalyptus... a tad too much. Milk chocolate. Ample fine scaffolding and length. This is in an in between state, but I do not know if it will resolve to something greater or lesser... certainly has lost the dark intensity of youth, and right now is a little too sweet and minty. Tbh the score is giving the benefit of the doubt to where this is headed. |

12/27/2019 - Screwcaps Likes this wine: 93 pointsOpened 2017 tonight- I needed a break from whites during this Adelaide heatwave. Has taken four hours in a decanter to start to open up. Score wise it moved around between 92-96pts as different aspects came and went. Young Cabernet always hard to judge. At first a little washed out by creamy oak, length and tannin hidden behind good wood. Once it found its legs a lovely and persistent medium weight, clearly WA Cabernet with all its bay tree, black Olive, and salty nori with gravelly and herb garden tannins. 4 to 4.5 out of 5 for me. Could go higher tomorrow. It’s a couple of points ahead of the 17 Cullen Cab Merlot recently tried, more body and muscular tannins but still shows the more ‘classic’ cooler vintage well. |

11/13/2019 - Tartiflette wrote: 88 pointsAn overwhelming amount of fruit in nose as well as in mouth. All the black berries present. And then spices like pepper and thyme. Leather, wood, olive and liquorice. Medium acidity but very little tannin present. A somewhat boring drink because it is a fruit drink with added alcohol. However it does no harm. |

2/1/2019 - Avid Wino wrote: 89 pointsI was a bit harsh in scoring this previously. Descriptors as before. Mulberries, currants, bay leaf, savoury elements, dusty tannin. To which I’d add, pleasing pucker of tannin and ample length. First Friday night for many weeks where the temp has been less than 30 degrees, and I’ve been looking forward to a glass of red. |

9/7/2018 - BBPP Likes this wine: NRIf you crack a LEAS or a Vat 47 too often they lose their sense of occasion. So I've been testing a few sub $50 Chardonnays recently. My thirst for knowledge knows no bounds. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (7) |

7/9/2018 - Andrew67 Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis is an ok wine, but it lacks a definitive edge. I drank this in one day (ok with friends - not on my own). The previous bottle was better on day 2, but you don't want a (white) wine to need multiple days. I think this is a year or 2 past its best. It is just flat. |
