This Barolo successfully combines the aromatic intensity of Burgundy with the long caressing finish from Nebbiolo’s greater tannic structure. The nose shows the typical red fruit, roses, and tar notes, with good richness but not the bulky oakiness of some modernists. I could see more aging but no harm to open now. |

On the nose, I found black cherry fruit, balsamic, dark floral tones and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is medium in body with tannins that are still a touch grainy, but largely integrated, and medium acidity. |
