7/13/2017 - RGCM Gananda Likes this wine: 92 pointsPrior bottle was only a few weeks ago, but considering how it showed, I decided not to wait. Turns out the prior bottle was almost certainly more negative bottle variation than anything else as tonight's bottle showed much better and was closer to what I would've thought reasonable. Apple, pear and a hint of peach on the nose; a bit more aromatic than previously. Opened at 50F, warming to 53F and again showed better contrast on the warmer side. Remains medium bodied (8.5% ABV) with green apple, melon and pear upfront and some deeper white peach notes through the middle. Much better acidity throughout and especially on the backside which provided both structure and contrast. Excellent tart white fruit notes into the finish with just a few hints of some tropical qualities starting to creep in, but all balanced by the acidity. Based on this bottle, the wine is still clearly on the upswing and as long as it can retain close to this level of acidity while allowing the fruit to develop, it should continue to gain complexity. Sadly, this was my last bottle, but always pleased to go out on a high note like this! |

Very layered and complex on the nose and palate opening with a whiff of marine diesel, a plethora of baking spices including cinnamon and cloves, baked apples, lemon confit, lychees in syrup, and slate. As it opens up the petrol starts to come out stronger but it doesn't ruin the rest of the wine as it gains more complexity with air bringing an intense rush of mineralite and acidity. Just beautiful. |

7/10/2017 - Stevelayden Likes this wine: 92 pointsUnfortunately I didn't catch the AP number off this before I tossed the bottle. Came from a half, so it didn't last long! Really electric and exciting but without near the profundity of fruit flavors that the W-S Goldkapsel had in this vintage (drank side by side). The first Prum from 2013 whose acidity equaled the 2010 offerings and seemed a little out of balance on this one. Absolutely phenomenal on the finish when the acidity cleansed the way for a wonderfully creamy after-effect. Lighter feeling than the W-S and probably the more 'food friendly' wine, but why you wouldn't enjoy this on its own is beyond me. 92+ and curious to see how it integrates in the future. |

Palate layered, rich, complex, mouth-coating texture. feels like a sauternes in its depth but lighter body. Sweet with good balancing acidity. Florals. As it warmed, a more pronounced diesel petrol note, but not overpowering; palate has an explosion of citrus flavors, lingering finish that goes on and on. We loved this, to the point that the last drops were hand-poured to an obliging drinker's mouth. Lip smackingly good, a great example of an aged Riesling. 93 pts |

7/9/2017 - Elpaninaro Likes this wine: NRlight yellow color, when first opened it was barely there, 90 minutes later a rich and yet finessed nose, a bit of petrol, marmalade, apricots, sweet citrus, on the palate an ethereal and elegant entry with a bright mid-palate impact, mandarin oranges, apricot, hints of pineapple, slight earth note and suggestions of dark plums, fine length, over the course of 3 hours it slowly built on the palate and finish but never lost its ethereal feel, impeccable balance, a very pretty finish with acids well hidden, coming around nicely but I plan to wait a few more years before opening another- this needs a bit more time. **(***), 2020++ a very long life ahead. |

Åpen og samlet. Ikke noe antydning til videre modning. Drikker fantastisk nå. Drukket etter 2011, og har alt 11 ikke har. Mye bedre intensitet både på nese og i munn. Gul og hvit søt frukt med honning også i munn, som balanseres av en flott syre. Klementiner og modne sitroner. Medium pluss utgang. |
