From Coravin. Very slight stalks lend a toughness to the plummy blackberry fruit with touches of sweet spice and smoked bacon underpinning. tight and savoury, slightly meaty with plenty of drying and grainy tannins that pretty much dominate the palate. Lacks fruit but time may help...Hmm.

Nice, dark red fruit, more towards black cherry, plum, earth, wood. Moderate full body, balanced, not exactly crisp, and perhaps more than ready, but overall quite good. Drank over two nights, definitely best day 1.

From Coravin. Quite rich/concentrated berry to raisin this time but with an earthy herbaceous quality as well as some chalky minerality. Palate a reflection of the nose but with sufficient acidity to keep things fresh. Hmm.

Bright straw yellow colour. Discreet to medium intensive nose of candied lemon, wet stone and some floral touch. In the mouth medium bodied with a nice texture and good zing. Overall, nice mineral character, combined with candied citrus. Drinks very well. Don’t think there’s more upside.

Coravin fun - Grand Cru Burgundy (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Lifted, sour cherry, blackberry savoury spices, a little blood and a touch of volatility with a smidge of toast. That slight volatility lends freshness to the palate for me the fruit is less sour though and travels long with toasted coffee beans and chamois soft tannins. Yum.

On the nose it is harmonious and understated with notes of hard lemon candy, almonds and seaspray with very well judged oak. Firm and driven on the palate with good volume yet not that much weight. Lots of quiet power in there. Again oak has been used very well, it shows mostly on the texture and as some spiciness on the finish. Solid acidity. As always required a healthy amount of air to fully come alive.

Positive colour; low-key, medicinal edge to bouquet; supple, velvety fruit, with a spiciness, flattering acidity, with an inner providing structure; very long finish with plenty of depth & strength. Lots of time in hand

First a disclaimer: this bottle could improve in the future and merit a better review.
Based on its current state, it shows far too much of a new style for my taste: lower acidity, over-extracted, slightly high sensation of alcohol. It doesn't have the elegance and balance that you would expect from this climat. In stark contrast to the 1996 wine from Girardin that I opened the previous week...
There clearly is enough substance that it could develop favorably in the future, but I don't expect it.

Definitely a wine to let open up for an hour or so. With air it became rich, the nose almost new world. It has nice acidity and while overall a bit new world on the palette for CC, an altogether pleasant drink. Would I spend $85 for it again, probably not.

(Blind tasting)
Very youthful, clean and pure, albeit a bit simple nose. Apple, white flowerns, gently oaky and some butter.
Medium body. Elegant but also a bit thin. Gently oaky, orchard fruit, and a hint of smoky minerality. Round malo-notes.
This will gain from further cellaring, but lacks a bit fatness.

Inviting bouquet and profile, true to place, with no lingering question. Compelling textures, serious framing acids, long and satisfying finish. Not an extended ager, but it should evolve and hold through 2025+.

A terrific drink for the vintage. Has a complex nose of sandalwood, wild herbs, decaying leaves, beef stock and something sweet and vinous. It is fresh in the mouth, with plenty of plant matter and crunchy berry fruit. It is relatively compact and finishes sinewy and long.

My last bottle; quite impressive if you give it a day with aeration.
in the bouquet there is a hint of grass and stone, a whiff of fine wood/vanilla and a bit of mint. That combination continues in the taste ans ends in a super fresh and balanced aftertaste.

I was going threw my cellar and thought i would review it on Mothers Day Dinner.
Lite Ruby Red in colour with a red brick rim at May 2019. v/nice for age
On opening , we have leaping out of the glass maturing Beetroot pinot complexity with some nice new oak handling. nice ready.
On the palate we have sweet ripe fruit upfront , lite and mature bodied mid palate , with strong tannins giving length still to loose with age. nice mature prem. cru Burgundy from a good vintage getting ready for certain and perfect with Roast Pork.

PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-nearly semi-translucent med dark red minimal bricking
-very faint VA-like lifted aromas mostly dissipates with air leaving very fresh creamy red fruit cherry raspberry rhubarb
-med/med+ acidity, med/med- weight mildly medicinal liqueur-like red fruit sappy extract leaves a slightly bitter note accompanying the med/med- tannins giving a faint rustic edge
-just a touch of rusticity in this bottle marries well to the liqueur-like red fruit giving it an extra dimension, certainly seems ripe enough, probably on its prime drinking plateau now; displays a redder fruit profile than a bottle a couple years ago
