Decanted for 6 hours. Very impressive nose of mixed red fruit and orange blossoms. Very little if any toasted oak. Tannins continue to be present but are fine, grainy and integrated. Citrus red berries, cherry, and some green notes - may be celery stick? Long finish. This wine has probably a decade or two more to go. My favorite line from Wine Spectator tasting note (Sep 30, 1997 - score 96) is: "....gives Château Pétrus a run for its money". We have not had the fortune or pleasure of tasting Petrus before.

I usually avoid popping a bottle of highly rated Cabernet or Bordeaux before 15 years of age. However, since we have a case of '03 Quilceda, we were tempted to try one after reading all CT reviews. Decanted for 8 hours. Killer massive nose - awesome. Wish on palate was as good. Alc heat affects the enjoyment of this wine with all of its fruits and some subtle green notes. It will need more cellar time for all components to integrate and pick up more depth and complexity. All elements are there for a great wine in 5-10 years from now.

Decanted 20 minutes to reduce sediment. Clear color. Brown rim. Awesome nose. Not a bit of heat on palate. Still with some fruits left but also tertiary notes. Medium plus finish. This still has many years to go.

Decanted for 90 minutes. You could smell it 2 feet away! Big and bold California cab. Profound nose of mixed dark berries and forest floor soil plus may be a subtle green note. Not a bit of heat. Well integrated tannins. At peak or slighty past it. Medium plus finish. I was expecting more complexity and depth from this '94 vintage which I understand was a very good year. In fact, we had more enjoyment from '93 Bryant (refer to 12/31/2012) note. I hope it was just a bottle variation since we still have few more.

For nebbiolo, this wine is surprisingly ready to drink now at the age of 15. Tannins mellowed out. Deep, complex, multi-dimensional. Holding on to half dozen other bottles for now.

This benefited from few hours decanting. Potentially, it could pick up a little complexity with 2 years of cellaring. Very pleasant and was even better the next day.

Unexpected heat for a 19 year old cab (%13.9 Alc). Tannins resolved. Drink up. I doubt this will improve with more time.

Day #2 update: I had kept remaining wine in a 375 mL bottle (to prevent further Ox) to next day. This time we noticed a significant difference - less heat. More enjoyable!

That added to my confusion when read the most recent Galloni critique that this wine will not age well or get better (contrary to what Wine Spectator suggested). I tend to agree with WS. Lots of fruit and lots of tannins. Medium plus finish. Revisit 2015.

Two hours after bottle was opened we realized this wine was made for aging. Double decanted and ran through Vinturi. Lots of floral and bright fruit on nose. Very fresh on palate reflecting whats on nose. Long finish. Tannins firm, chewy, and prominent. Kept the remaining two bottles in a distant corner in cellar. Try again no earlier than 2025 !

This bottle was almost as good as last one (11/11/2012) but had "oily" smell and taste reminiscent of olive tapanade. It went well with corned beef and cabbage on St Patrick's Day !

Poured in decanter. Character kept on changing for up to 6 hours. Last glass was most enjoyable. Medium plus finish. Very little if any tannins remaining. I'd drink before it hits 25 years of age.

This bottle a little different. Wine did not tolerate more than 4 hours of air time before it showed more acidity, oak, and some harshness on palate. I think it is approaching the end of drinking window. For remaining bottles, this is still enjoyable the first 2 hours after pop/pouring.
