Flavours are beautiful rich berries, black fruit, fine laced tannins, like a fine subtle young wine waiting for aging. Very good but way too young. As the bottle disappears it is apparent that while this is a very good 'baby' it needs a long time time growing up. Note to self - don't touch for another 5 years |

With some air this opens up a bit, and stays simple - black cherry, red fruit and young tannins. |

Pnp, nose is a blast of barnyard funk, red acidity and ascending dark fruit, grip, unsmoked cigar leaf and very good depth. Taste is restrained at this early stage, supremely fine, there are no jagged edges here. It’s dark fruit balanced with a perfect acidity, tannins are just there without being obtrusive, it’s calm and collected and as the air opens up you can feel the depth beckoning you over to be involved. It’s very very good, undoubtedly excellent. Am going to allow this to breathe for a while before the next glass. |

Crunchy bright red fruit, lively with pep in the background. Sangiovese of class. |

Nose kicks off with a waxy lemon/lime zest, distinct oiliness, herbaceous grassiness, slightly muted which is great. A hint of spritz on the tongue, muted lemon zest, refined poised acidity, all very very good. Some air softens the edges and warmer honey notes emerge, all precisely defined still. Exceptional and again, absolutely love this wine. |

Nose has a reductive funk, very distant red cherry, black pepper, twist of liquorice and menthol, a sharp red acidity edge. Muted on tasting, faded acidity, all very subdued. Hmm! Needs to evolve. A few hours later the nose has developed more dark fruit, black cherry, and the bright acidity is still very present. Taste has developed too, tannins are firm, bright redcurrant is sharply there, some cigar box and compost base layer, earthy and mushrooms. Mature and ok, not that exciting. Agree with others on this needs drinking up. |

My first ever English whisky at a late stage in my life! |

Dryand restrained, feels over a bit in the fruit has disappeared and left with a very tertiary leathery old red. Not that appealing - will try more on day 2 (89). Day 2 and all that leathery old red taste has gone away, red acidity has jumped up to the fore and more vibrant fruit has appeared. Much better. Last bottle so will never know where this goes next! Moving up a couple of points and thinking you have it time to drink up. |

Fine mesh of peppery tannins laced across red fruit, blood orangeade tar, the tannins are ever present and peppy - very good. Like the refinement of this and could easily take a few more years. With more air this simplifies with the fruit but tannins still there. |
