The nose and were citrus and pear with toasty oak. Clean finish. Not overly complex, but solid and at the clearance price, it is a steal. 87+ to 88pts. |

6/28/2011 - rocknroller wrote: 88 pointsI wanted to try another bottle of this to see where it was at. The answer for me is not close yet. Dark red purple color. The color just coats the glass and hangs, very rich and concentrated. The nose is black fruits, cassis, blackberry, spice, tobacco. After 2 days, the earth emerges and some licorice. The palate again is concentrated, very drying tannins at this point, oaky, spicy, black fruits and some heat. I did not find this pleasant on day one, and not much better on day 2. By day 3 this was beginning to settle down and come together showing some promise. I am going to let this sit for a good year before revisiting. |

6/24/2011 - rocknroller wrote: 88 pointsMedium to light red color with marked generalized bricking. The nose is is mature with earth, a bit of meatiness, some spice, cherry. The palate is tart with cherries, light body, good acid, medium finish. I didn't expect much from this, but it was pretty decent. It actually held up and even improved a bit on day 2 and 3 before falling apart. I would drink these up sooner than later. This varied from 87-88 points for me. |

6/25/2011 - rocknroller wrote: 90 pointsMinneapolis Wine Club - Mix of N/V and Vintage Champagne (Irene's Garden): Medium golden color. The nose has elements of peach and apricot, some honey, a bit of orange peel, and some fusil. Fairly round and viscous on the palate, rich peach, honey and some orange again. I agree this could benefit from a bit more acidity, but on the whole it is quite good. Great value. 89+ to 90pts. |

6/25/2011 - rocknroller wrote: 86 pointsMinneapolis Wine Club - Mix of N/V and Vintage Champagne (Irene's Garden): Deep pink-red color. The best thing about this was the color, it was lovely to look at. The nose was subtle red berries. The palate was harsh and bitter. Maybe this was just too young and will benefit from some cellaring. I think I will pass, especially at the price. |

6/28/2011 - rocknroller wrote: 90 pointsLight gold to borderline medium gold color. Nose is predominantly citrus, some gooseberry fruit, and sutle peach, with with hints of grass and minerals and hust a bit of petrol. The palate hits with a tart citrus with significant grapefruit, mineral, fairly good viscosity , plenty of acid and the finish is medium plus. This wine has plenty of character, nice nose, body, and finish. I wish the palate displayed a little more diversity of fruit, less of the grapefruit, and this would have kicked up a point or two. |

This has a nice nose with yeast, minerals, candied green apples, citrus, pear, and bit of smoke. The palate shows bright fruits consistent with the nose that meld nicely with the minerality and acidity, lovely finish. Solid and consistent. |

Wonderful earth notes with cassis and black cherry flavors in particular along with the leather and game. Silky on the palate, very complex. Long finish. |
