1/3/2024 - Outplaying Likes this wine: NRThis is a pleasant, though somewhat simple wine, but it works fine. I had low expectations given the average score here, but I’m enjoying it actually. I like the lighter weight and elegance. I wish I had a few more bottles, to drink over the next few years. |

12/7/2023 - Outplaying Likes this wine: NRWhite Alba truffle dinner at Park Place: Excellent Chablis. Like Bob said, I could also drink this all night. Brine and sea water aromas. Saline, good fruit concentration. Some lime. Drinking really well. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

10/20/2023 - Outplaying wrote: NRI am not familiar with this producer at all. Some earthy notes on the nose. A mix of red a darker fruit. I thought there was a hint of sweetness that detracted for me, but there was plenty of acid. Ann loved it. I wouldn’t say that, but it is pretty good.. |

2/4/2023 - Outplaying wrote: NRHolly and Tony picked up some funkiness that I did not. This was considerably more intense than the Casanova di Neri. More fruit, a hint of sweetness, licorice and spice accents. I liked this one, too. |

11/30/2021 - Outplaying wrote: NRTen and a half years since we have opened one of these. Where does the time go? My tastes have changed a lot since I bought these and this is not really made in a style that I pursue now. Some cinnamon and earthy notes on the nose. The fruit is rich, with a sweet, sappy quality to it. Darker tones, some earth and tobacco accents. Decent acidity. Overall this is enjoyable and I am curious how the last glass will be after being open for a night. |

10/1/2020 - Outplaying Likes this wine: NRAlmost nine years since the last bottle. Still very good, and it doesn’t seemed to have changed much. I really like this vintage and won’t rush to drink my last bottle. |

6/13/2020 - Outplaying wrote: NRThis was opened later in the evening, and I was a little wined out, but this didn’t resonate with me. It was a little hard, and simple. I guess you could chalk it up to being young, but I am not convinced. |

3/31/2020 - Outplaying wrote: NRSince my last bottle about five years ago, this has taken on some earthy, aged notes. Black and blue fruit tones, dark honey. There is a lot of fruit here, but it is restrained compared to the bigger vintages and there is a nice dose of balancing acidity. This is really drinking well. I like this vintage in CdP. |

12/19/2018 - Outplaying wrote: NRI enjoyed this wine. There is a nice balance of fruit, aged aromas and flavors. Dark, with tar and smokey accents. Food friendly acidity. No need to rush with these, though they seem mature. I've tried a few different vintages now, and I like what I've had. |

5/14/2017 - Outplaying wrote: NRA light, transucent cantaloupe color. Fine bubbles. Honey and brioche on the nose. Red berries on the palate. A little rounded. Not bad, but I didn't love it. I think this would be a crowd pleaser though. |

9/25/2016 - Outplaying wrote: NRMy last of 7 bottles and almost 5 years since my last note. I really enjoyed the previous bottles, but this one seemed a little sweet to me. Likely a reflection of our tastes changing. Hints of leather and tertiary flavors are just beginning to develop. Not bad with a homemade, somewhat spicy paella, but I didn't enjoy it by itself. Their is a little structure remaining so if I had more, I would probably hold and hope for something more. |

12/5/2015 - Outplaying wrote: 90 pointsIt's been about four years since I had one of these. This was once in my wheelhouse, yet a little too lean for Ann. This time, Ann loved it and I thought there was just a bit too much glycerin and sweet ripe fruit. Accents of leather, chocolate, charred earth and faint licorice. Moderate acidity, and a little fine tannin. Held up well on day two, showing just a bit softer. Overall a nice wine but on the edge for me in terms of style. If I had another bottle, I might wait a couple years to see if more tertiary flavors develop. |

Still fairly primary and simple with shadings of crushed black pepper and a little dark honey to go along with mostly red and a little darker fruit. Silky and elegant. Ann loved it. I'll wait five plus years before opening another to see if it gains some complexity. |

Some spice. There is still a lot of structure and fruit here and the wine tastes young despite the color. I'd love to follow this wine over the next 10 years or so. Enjoyed it. |

12/29/2013 - Outplaying wrote: NRPopped and poured a glass for Ann and myself. Very muted nose and palate so I poured the remainder in a decanter. The wine took a couple hours to open but when it did it showed subtle and pretty red fruits, slight black tea and faint spices. For ten years old, the wine does not show a lot of secondary flavors but it is also not a fruit bomb by any stretch. Very elegant and restrained. More so than any other CdP I've had. The bottle surprisingly said 15% but I detected no heat at all. My only knock, and it is a slight one, is that there is a very faint caramel cream note on the finish. |
